Over the past two decades, the Ambedkarite community in Australia has steadily grown, connecting families and individuals across Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and other major cities. With the formation of the Ambedkarite Global Federation (AGF), these efforts have now taken a more organized shape, ensuring that Babasaheb’s vision of liberty, equality, and fraternity continues to inspire new generations.

On 17th May 2025, members of the Indian Buddhist and Ambedkarite community in Melbourne will gather at the Mount Waverly Community Centre to celebrate Buddha Day. This day commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and parinibbana of the Buddha, marking it as one of the most significant events in the Buddhist calendar.

Small family gathering groups in living rooms slowly became public gatherings, and what started as informal meet-ups has evolved into structured associations, cultural events, and service initiatives—anchored by the growing Indian Buddhist community.
